Privacy
1. Server log files and technical delivery
When this website is accessed, the web server may process technically required connection data, including the IP address, date and time, requested file, browser type and operating system. This processing takes place independently of the functions described below.
2. Language and day/night display
A cookie with a lifetime of up to one year is set for the selected language. Day/night mode is calculated server-side using the fixed webcam location and sunrise/sunset times.
3. Visitor counter without a persistent counting cookie
To avoid duplicate counting, a server-side hash is generated for each calendar day from the date, IP address and browser identifier. The raw values are not stored in the counter database. On page requests, daily hashes dated more than two calendar days ago are deleted; the existing total counter remains unchanged. Search engine and preview bots are excluded where possible.
4. Former guestbook / legacy data
The guestbook feature has been removed. No new guestbook entries are collected or published. Existing entries remain as legacy data in the existing local SQLite database so that no user data is lost during this technical migration. They are no longer displayed on the website or in the admin area. Deletion requests can be sent to the contact details above.
5. Weather data from Open-Meteo
The homepage loads current weather data directly from the Open-Meteo API. The visitor’s browser therefore connects to Open-Meteo. According to the provider, API usage monitoring may include logging IP addresses and requested URLs.
6. Live stream and timelapse via IPCamLive
The live stream and timelapse are loaded through embedded IPCamLive players. Opening these players establishes a direct connection to IPCamLive. IPCamLive states in its privacy policy that it processes technical connection and usage data, among other information.
7. OpenStreetMap and Leaflet on the location page
The Leaflet map library is served directly by this website. Map tiles are requested from the OpenStreetMap Foundation, so the browser connects to OpenStreetMap. According to the OpenStreetMap Foundation, use of its services may involve processing the IP address, browser/device type, operating system, referrer, timestamp and requested content.

8. External sharing links
The homepage provides sharing links for Facebook, WhatsApp and Telegram. No social-media plugins from these providers are embedded merely by loading this website. A connection to the respective service is only established after actively clicking a sharing link.
9. Internal admin area
The password-protected admin area is used solely to manage the visitor counter. A technically required session cookie is used from the login form onward. Authenticated sessions expire after 30 minutes of inactivity. Login rate limiting stores a keyed hash of the IP address, the attempt count and the start of the time window. These records are deleted on admin requests after 15 minutes.
10. Rights of data subjects
Where personal data is processed, statutory requirements may provide rights including access, rectification, erasure, restriction of processing and, where applicable, objection. Requests can be sent to the contact details listed in the legal notice.
